Since the beginning of this course and we are practicing whatever we learn in the class. At first we have created our own business cards that we will be able to use later on in our real life and in our future careers. We have designed it and added our information that would perfectly describe our position and contact information.
After that we designed our own scientific poster that was based on a research paper that we did before. This poster highlights the most important parts of our research, and that would allow the reader to have a great idea about our work. This poster is very helpful since it enables us to use it later on to design educational posters for our classes about different subjects and concepts that we teach.
Then we created a webquest that contains a mini lesson for our students to do. We have designed a lesson on the internet, and we have used it beneficially to order the steps that the students must follow to meet our objectives and for them to learn the lesson. The lesson was clearly structured and organized, and it will help students to benefit form the internet rather than seeing it as a way just to chat and spend time. They will be able to read articles over the internet, and complete the tasks that are given by the teacher.
Now we are creating our own VCT in which we plan a unit in which students have to learn from it through a variety of activities that are presented in a power point. I found really enjoyable that students are going to learn through this technique, it's a kind of difference in the strategies used by the teacher and it will make learning easier.
I admit it that we are overwhelmed and really stressed because of all this work, but it's worthy. We have learned a lot, and personally speaking, this course created a big difference in my view about using technology in the classroom since it is enjoyable for me and for my students.
This course should be a must for every teacher because the teacher who doesn't know to use word ,power point ,websites search and googling should go hide her or him self ,learn them and them come again to teach.All of us know in the technology class how to do these things because we use technology every day and we are the generation of technology.Moreover, new things such as the blog ,web quest and VCT are very nice to know how to do them but unfortunately i think 10 percent of the schools they use them and they refuse to use them because their stuck to the traditional ways of teaching.
